But why is there such a growing demand for online tutors?

It’s simply about convenience, accessibility and technology. Nowadays, everyone has access to a smartphone, tablet, computer and laptop so with technology so accessible, online tutoring just seems like the most convenient method tutoring in 2018. Kids are able to learn in the comfort of their own home, free from all distractions and it’s much easier for parents to supervise tutoring sessions that are online and the parents can also track their child’s progress. With most learning material readily available online, the students have no problem in accessing this outside of their normal scheduled sessions.

The child is able to work and learn at their own pace. Online tuition gives the tutee the opportunity to focus more on a topic when needs be as it is not like a normal classroom environment in which everyone must be going at a set pace. The tutee gets the attention that they need, thus reducing anxiety and stress and at the same time progressing.

If the tutee is struggling in more than one subject, this can affect the confidence that they have in their own abilities. With online tuition, it’s a chance for the tutee to pick themselves back up and to work on rebuilding their academic confidence that was lost, which leads to more effective learning, which makes it almost certain that progress will be seen by the parents and both the tutee and tutor.
